Frame drums have been used for thousands of years and are known and used all over the world for healing treatments, musical accompaniment and ceremonial purposes as well as simply for decoration. They consist of a circular wooden frame to which a natural skin is attached. The sound is incredibly rich and can vary naturally with differences in climate, temperature and humidity.
This Shaman Drum features a fixed goatskin head on a beautiful rosewood frame. Leather beater included (this is the "drum stick"). Drums can also be played with bare fingers as well.
For healing purposes, you can learn to detect differences in energy fields by listening carefully to the overtone spectrum reflected while playing the drum near someone's body.
Drums are available in a variety of sizes - a smaller person may be more comfortable working with a smaller drum.
