Over Ninety (90) minutes of exceptional educational content for the Pilates devotee, teacher-in training, or Pilates professional, as you will be taken through beginner, intermediate, and advanced level exercises. This video is also an extraordinary tool for post surgical or general shoulder, hip and knee rehabilitation.

Port de Bras, Pull-Up, Swan, Going Up Front, Mountain Climber, Tendon Stretch, Mermaid—just a few exercises that are part of the complete Chair repertoire that you’ll see taught and demonstrated in exquisite detail.

Deceptively resembling a stylish little stool, the Pilates Chair, most commonly known as the Wunda Chair or Stability Chair, is one versatile exercise machine. Don't let the word "chair" fool you - it's far from a sit-down workout. Warm-up, breathing techniques, insights on sequencing, rhythmic flow, transitions and more.

While many of these Pilates exercises are performed seated on top and pressing down on the step/pedal with your feet, others entail lying on the floor, standing straight up, lunging forward or doing variations on the push-up. Learn more than 75 exercises that can be performed on the Chair.

Once again, adjustable spring resistance is the key to challenge with this specialized piece of fitness equipment. While pressing down on the step with one's arms or legs, much of the stabilizing work is left up to the torso - and it is harder than it looks. This apparatus activates the lower back, buttocks, shoulder, transverse abdominals and pelvic region and heightens neuromuscular coordination. From a rehabilitation perspective, the Pilates Wunda Chair or Stability Chair is particularly effective for stretching and rebalancing muscles that have been strained or injured.

About Jennifer Kries

Jennifer's mind-body arts and fitness background is as rich and diverse as the life force flow that forms the foundation of her new series. Jennifer has enjoyed the benefits of Pilates for most of her life. She first discovered its timeless principles at age 13 in a mat class at New York’s School of American Ballet given by Pilates disciple, Eve Gentry.

She went on to study with three of Joseph Pilates original disciples throughout her professional dance career, starting with Eve Gentry, moving on to Romana Kryzanowska and then Ron Fletcher. With her background as professional dancer and yoga devotee, she brings a dynamic and progressive, yet traditional perspective to her Pilates teaching. Her work transforms bodies and minds in keeping with the passionate spirit that led Joseph Pilates to create his system. She holds a certification through the original Pilates Studio under the guidance of Romana Kryzanowska and is one of a privileged few 2nd generation Pilates Master Teachers in the country. She has practiced yoga since 1988 and has been teaching and inspiring thousands with her unique approach to yoga since 1995.

Through her inspiring work, she helps people transform far more than their bodies, enabling them to tap into a reserve of power never before experienced. Her attention to detail, superb teaching style, artistry, and knowledge of Eastern healing techniques, anatomy and energy dynamics makes her one of the most highly sought-after mind-body teachers in the world today.
