No preparation needed - to warm, just plug the cord into your nearest electrical outlet. Warming the stones takes about 30-40 minutes on the highest setting when they have been off. Please note that in colder weather, the stones will absorb the cold also so upon arrival they will need more time to warm up unless you bring them to room temperature before warming.
